Just outside of the city, Gibson Point boasts panoramic ocean views, a unique wellness package, and one of the largest living roofs in New England, making the 291 unit community the perfect locale for someone seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of an urban lifestyle. The thermal experience from Timbre is the ultimate counterpart for Gibson Point’s mission to provide a holistic, wellness-forward way of living for its residents that reaches beyond just traditional apartment amenities.
Developed by Redgate––a leading real estate advisory, owner’s project management, and investment firm––Gibson Point is the first development of its kind to deliver such an all-encompassing wellness package intended to support residents’ mental health in addition to physical health.
“In developing Gibson Point, we envisioned more than just a place to live; we set out to create a wellness sanctuary and a waterfront destination,” says Damian Szary and Kyle Warwick, Principals at Redgate.
The courtyard, already serene in nature, is one of Gibson Point’s central features and was easily transformed into a culturally-inspired retreat blending design and ritual. In Japan, natural hot springs known as onsen are revered for their mineral-rich waters and tranquil setting, a likeness to which Timbre’s thoughtful design is meant to evoke.
“Timbre’s residency further underscores Gibson Point’s position as the premier wellness destination on the North Shore of Boston,” says Szary and Warwick.
Peter Russell, wellness guide, practitioner, and founder of the Timbre brand drew inspiration for a thermal retreat from his global travels. A true vision of wellness, Timbre was created with the intention of combining community, ritual, and sensory stimulation for the ultimate bathhouse experience.
“Throughout human history, thermal retreats have had a predominant role in bringing communities together,” says Russell. “From Roman baths and Finnish saunas to Middle Eastern hammams and Japanese onsens, all serve as spaces for both restoration and connection.”
For Russell, the holistic application of these borrowed wellness traditions––in other words the Timbre brand––enhanced his ability to relax, find balance and mental clarity, and improve overall health and wellbeing. The same should be true for those who choose to partake in this exclusive pop-up experience.
“Today’s wellness seekers are rediscovering the value of connecting in new, healthy ways and Timbre offers a modern gathering place inspired by this heritage,” says Russell of the inaugural Greater Boston opening.
Through the end of July, Timbre will host immersive weekly workshops in the courtyard incorporating sauna, cold plunge, breathwork, and shared global rituals to cultivate connection and rejuvenation for both residents and the public.
