Branded Living caught up with Cristian recently and asked him about his design process and the inspiration behind the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Palm Beach Gardens.
Cristian Pinedo: Connecting with residents emotionally. It is not just about reflecting local context and offering unique experiences but also connecting with people at a more personal level. We have created strong memories, sense of belonging and comforting familiarity to make a space truly resonate with those who live in it.
Cristian Pinedo: The inspiration came from three different insights: mansion-style living, blooming gardens and boating lifestyle. Mix them all together and you will get the perfect recipe for happiness, right? The residential units are bigger than usual because Catalfumo’s vision was to create mansions in the sky.
The amenities keep that vibe going, spreading out like “wings” with plenty of generous spaces. Meanwhile, the constant blooming gardens make their way inside through textures and delicate accents, like an ephemeral setting that lasts forever. Last but not least, the lifestyle itself is all about water. Being right next to the intercoastal and with your own marina inspired a deep connection with the sea. Imagine the last rays of sunlight dancing on the water as you approach your mansion by boat… idyllic? Not anymore.
Cristian Pinedo: Collaborating with Ritz-Carlton around the world for so many years gives you a clear sense of what the brand represents and the direction the brand is taking. Being part of their clientele also lets you see things from the guest’s perspective. This double insight and empathy, understanding the guest experience and the service is crucial when designing.
Cristian Pinedo: Legendary, gracious and inspiring.
