Reflecting from the famous pink sand shores of Harbour Island, the stunning Briland Club Residences and Marina emerges on the horizon—not just a place to dock your vessel, but the gateway to the Bahamas’ only shore-to-shore development, residences and legendary “Haunted House” private club.

Long-time visitors of Harbour Island, Michael and Melanie Wiener had a vision for modern travel with respect for the island’s distinct way of life.

What began with a chance encounter during a romantic sunset walk, imagination and a for-sale sign in 2016, Briland Club Residences & Marina has blossomed into a new haven for boat owners and snowbirds seeking a more bespoke cove in paradise.

Family Legacy Meets World-Class Luxury

The Briland Club represents an exciting new chapter for 4M, the California-based development company with over 35 years of experience primarily in California, Hawaii, and Texas. This marks their first venture in the Bahamas.

With strategic branded partnership for management that elevates the property, 4M has joined forces with The Royal Portfolio Group, the prestigious South African luxury hospitality brand whose properties consistently rank among the world’s top 20 hotels.

“The synergy between our companies was immediately apparent,” explains Wiener. “Both are family businesses with multi-generational involvement and a shared commitment to uncompromising quality and authentic experiences.”

Engineering Excellence + Environmental Stewardship

Located at coordinates 25.5001° N, 76.6341° W (GMT -4 Hours), the marina’s cutting-edge design accommodates vessels up to 300ft (91M) in length. Boasting a 180,000-gallon fuel capacity in central Bahamas with innovative “on-demand in-slip fueling” eliminating traditional refueling hassles, featuring floating docks constructed from Ipe wood, a South American hardwood “as strong as concrete,” offering a significant advantage for yacht owners, captain and crew.

“When you tie your boat to the cleat, you don’t need slack in the line,” explains Wiener. “You can tie the boat as tight as possible to the dock as you and the dock float up and down together. It’s a game changer, making maintenance safer and easier.”

Power Independence: A Critical Island Advantage

“On the island, power is unstable—we generate our own. No other property can do that,” notes Wiener. The development’s four 750 KW generators provide stable, clean power, producing more than half the entire island’s power supply and protecting against the voltage spikes that typically damage appliances and technology in island settings.

Briland Club offers extreme hurricane safety ratings, power supply up to 400A/480A capacity, and fiber optic/WiFi internet connection throughout. The marina combines the modern advantage of a premier boating location, aesthetic beauty with technical superiority.

This power independence, combined with investment in underground utility lines and advanced technology systems, establishes a new standard for infrastructure for the property and Harbour Island.

The Only Shore-To-Shore Property

“There is nobody who offers what we offer,” Wiener says with justified pride. “We’re the only marina on the island and the only family island that has a breakwater and the only property on Harbour Island spanning from beach to harbor.”

Historically, The Great Harbour of Harbour Island lies to the west of the island, between it and Eleuthera. It was this harbour, with its easily defended approaches, that made it an ideal place to settle and indeed the island became inhabited early on in Bahamian history.

“This is significant because it combines marina and beach experiences,” Wiener emphasizes.

The property sits 10-14 feet above sea level with harbor-front elevation of 20-40 feet and occupies the furthest south position in Dunmore Town (named after former governor Lord Dunmore). This elevated position provides spectacular views while offering natural protection from the elements.

On the beach side, a full-service beach bar with hammocks and chairs offers the quintessential Bahamian experience. Meanwhile, four immaculate pickleball courts, gardens and gym provide recreational opportunities for active residents and guests.

The “Haunted House” Restoration

Standing at the heart of the property is the historic “Haunted House,” a structure built in the 1940’s that carries with it an unsolved mystery about new love, loss and a perfectly set dinner table for two.

“When the original developer brought his wife to the property, she refused to stay, left, and later the groundskeeper was burning trash and accidentally burnt the house,” Wiener recounts. “Locals have played inside for decades and claim to hear sounds of the missing wife in the distance.”

Rather than demolishing this piece of Harbour Island history, Briland Club is meticulously restoring it to its original dimensions and design. The ground floor will house a restaurant space, while the upper level will become an exclusive private club space with priority amenity access for members only.

Yacht Owners & Crew: The Complete Package

For yacht owners and their crew, Briland Club offers an unparalleled experience with amenities designed specifically for maritime professionals.

The crew lounge features modern facilities with communal spaces, fitness center, showers, kitchen, games room, and dedicated workspaces. Complimentary Wi-Fi, equipment rentals, and water sports access ensure that crew members enjoy their stay as much as the yacht owners themselves.

The marina’s Dockmaster’s Concierge provides full-service provisions, while professional berthing assistance, 24-hour security with CCTV, in-slip waste disposal, and advanced fire suppression systems ensure peace of mind for all.

Charting Towards The Future

Now operating in its third year, the marina has been fully booked since December 31st, showing significant growth from the previous year. The marina restaurant is successfully operated by Bahamians with talent from Nassau, embracing local culinary ingredients and expertise.

The residential component of Briland Club has attracted significant attention in the luxury real estate world, with several units already sold and others available for rental. The residences perfectly capture the Harbour Island lifestyle with interiors designed by the legendary Bunny Williams.

“We’re creating not just a destination, but a lifestyle,” says Wiener. “One that honors Harbour Island’s rich heritage while offering casual elegance with modern luxuries and conveniences our discerning clientele expects.”

Looking ahead, Briland Club will expand wellness offerings with a spa complex, comprehensive fitness center, laundry facilities, and BBQ area—all in the final design phase. Concierge services are also growing to include floral arrangements, picnic baskets, fishing charters, event planning, excursions, and beach bonfires.
